From the Hebrew word meaning “to dedicate,” Hanukkah (or Chanukah), is the Jewish Festival of Lights. Beginning on the 25th day of Kislev in the Hebrew calendar and lasting for eight days, it celebrates the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem.
